Main Training Modules
These modules can be accessed through your parish at any time online. The information from the Study Days will be online if it's necessary to complete the module, but if not you will find there is nothing much in those sessions. You can dip into modules to study those things you feel you are interested in, or would like some training in.

If you decide at any time you would like to the complete the full Diocesan Certificate in Mission and Ministry course, please contact the Director of Studies, Rev'd Dawn Glen (dawn.glen@derby.anglican.org) and we will send you further information.
Modules are free through the parish but if you wish to register for the Diocesan Certificate in Mission and Ministry course there is a cost of £25 for each module.

These modules (apart from those for the LLM(R) Course, are largely studied on a one to one basis with a Diocesan specialist in that area so they would need to be accessed through the Diocese via an enquiry and an applicaiton form. If you are interested in accessing a specialist module, please ask your parish co-ordinator to let us know/ Of ui are interested in becoming a License Lay Minister (Reader) see the information below.
Licensed Lay (Reader) Ministry
The discernment process for Licensed Lay (Reader) Ministry (LL(R)M) begins during the advanced level of the Certificate in Mission and Ministry course. If you know that you are interested in LL(R)M ministry from the outset you will need to tick that box on the application form. You will then be registered onto the next advanced level module running (as this is a rolling programme) and you will be asked to contact a vocations adviser to begin that part of the process. During the course of the year you will be asked to complete a further application form and, with the written support of your vocations adviser, incumbent (or equivalent in a vacancy) and PCC, you will be invited to an interview panel. If it is agreed at the panel that you may indeed have a calling to LL(R)M, you will go on to a further year of study which comprises the following modules: 'Preaching', 'Leadership, Worship & Ministry', 'Pastoral Skills', and a 'Specialist Reader Module'.

Those who have studied on the old Transforming Faith course (and passed the assessments), or who have a University qualification in theology, may qualify for exemption from some of the modules and this will explored further on an individual basis prior to application for the first module. If you are in this category please contact the Director of Studies (dawn.glen@derby.anglican.org) before completing an application form.
